Book Announcement
I know I haven't posted any new poetry in awhile (over a month in fact), and I'd like to apologize to my 3 avid readers. haha! j/k The truth is that I'm actually working on a book with a friend of mine. We are compiling a collection of our poems and joint-publishing it ourselves. Once ready, I'll be sure to let you guys know where you can get it. It will be possible (preferable) for you to purchase it online.
That being said, I don't want to give everything away before the book is available. While most of it is older work that I have already posted here on the blog, there are some significant additions that the online world has yet to see. You won't see them, either, until the book is released. :o) Let's call it incentive for you to buy the book. *grin*
So, poetry postings will be suspended until further notice - basically until the book is out. We hope to be finished in the next month or two.
Thank you for your patience!

Why I Write
I write...
to reveal myself to you.
I write...
to draw eyes to details.
I write...
to awaken the senses.
I write...
to surprise.
I write...
to give words to the speechless.
I write...
for the one I love.
to reveal myself to you.
I write...
to draw eyes to details.
I write...
to awaken the senses.
I write...
to surprise.
I write...
to give words to the speechless.
I write...
for the one I love.

Shifted
Gazing
I watched colors swirl
and fade blue to plum
and black
and back
as they've always
done
Shifted
I see brightness dance
and play crimson with orange
and emerald
with yellow
in a familiar
way
How did I miss this for so long?
I watched colors swirl
and fade blue to plum
and black
and back
as they've always
done
Shifted
I see brightness dance
and play crimson with orange
and emerald
with yellow
in a familiar
way
How did I miss this for so long?

Questions
Who are you?
I've watched and waited.
I've wished and wanted.
Where are you?
I've searched and sorted.
I've shared and sorrowed.
Are you far?
I want to pull you close.
Are you near?
I wish for that the most.
Have we met?
Do you know?
Are you feeling the same?
Do you ask these questions too?
I've watched and waited.
I've wished and wanted.
Where are you?
I've searched and sorted.
I've shared and sorrowed.
Are you far?
I want to pull you close.
Are you near?
I wish for that the most.
Have we met?
Do you know?
Are you feeling the same?
Do you ask these questions too?

More of the Same
Just because I don't say much
does not mean things have changed.
I still feel the way I felt.
That feeling has not waned.
I wish that you felt it too,
but this I cannot force.
So, I'll stand back here silent,
not pushing anymore.
does not mean things have changed.
I still feel the way I felt.
That feeling has not waned.
I wish that you felt it too,
but this I cannot force.
So, I'll stand back here silent,
not pushing anymore.

In His Shadow
She cannot
see me
for him.
I stand
in his shadow.
I move left,
but it still
covers me.
I step right,
but he moves
with me.
She cannot
see me
for him.
He holds
her gaze.
I standbeside him,
but her eyes
do not shift.
Istandinfront,
but she looks
right through me.
She cannot
see me
for him.
I sit in
his shadow.
see me
for him.
I stand
in his shadow.
I move left,
but it still
covers me.
I step right,
but he moves
with me.
She cannot
see me
for him.
He holds
her gaze.
I standbeside him,
but her eyes
do not shift.
Istandinfront,
but she looks
right through me.
She cannot
see me
for him.
I sit in
his shadow.
